dc.description.abstract"Crateromys australis, new species, is described from one specimen collected on Dinagat, a small island north of Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines. The new rat is contrasted with the larger-bodied C. schadenbergi, which is endemic to Luzon, and the smaller C. paulus, the only native muroid recorded from Ilin Island. A discussion of the three species is set against the native mammals of Dinagat and the native Philippine murids"--P. [1].en_US
