The type species, P. elegans (Nicolet), is widespread in Chile, from Coquimbo south to Chiloé, and in adjacent Argentina, whereas P. bergi (Simon) is known only from the far southern tip of the continent: Magallanes in Chile, Tierra del Fuego in Argentina, and the Falkland Islands. Both species are redescribed on the basis of newly collected material.
