He established Archbold Expeditions (formerly Biological Expeditions) which sponsored field work, a collection and curatorial staff at the American Museum of Natural History. He also founded the Archbold Biological Station in Florida in 1941 as a center for scientific research and ecological study. One of the first to recognize the value of air transport in expeditionary work, Archbold led three of the New Guinea expeditions, the third of which culminated in the seaplane Guba II's historic transcontinental flight.en-USMammals -- Papua New Guinea.Mammals -- East (U.S.)Birds -- East (U.S.)Papua New Guinea -- Description and travel.East (U.S.) -- Description and travel.Archbold, Richard -- Travel -- Papua New Guinea.Archbold, Richard -- Travel -- East (U.S.)Archbold Expedition to New Guinea (1st : 1933-1934)Scientific expeditions -- Papua New Guinea.Mammal catalogue of Richard Archbold September 22, 1930 to March 8, 1934 / Richard Archbold.Mammals of New Guinea.Personal notes of Richard Archbold.Other
