Abstract
"The first fossil Euglossa (tribe Euglossini) is described and figured from Miocene Dominican amber as Euglossa moronei new species. The species is differentiated from extant euglossines, and its apparent lack of close affinity to any extant subgenus or species group is discussed. The existing data pertinent to the internal phylogeny of Euglossini are reconsidered and a new hypothesis of relationships among the genera is proposed. The distribution of the euglossines, particularly in the West Indies, and their associations with orchids is briefly considered"--P. [1].
