Abstract
This diary recounts Edmund Heller’s travels on his solo return journey after participating in the First Asiatic Zoological Expedition. Entries discuss the sites and architecture, observations about the local flora and fauna, weather, the culture and people, and goods for sale. They also describe his social engagements and the various institutions he visited during his travels. Locations mentioned include Shanghai, Peking, Seoul, Yokohama, Tokyo, Honolulu and Berkeley, Stanford and San Francisco in California.
