Abstract

An account of a collecting expedition to Florida and Georgia sponsored by the Academy of Natural Sciences, Dec. 1817-April 1818. The expedition party included William Maclure, Thomas Say, George Ord and Titian Ramsay Peale.

12 leaves, 25 cm. Undated ms., handwritten in blue ink on lined paper; signed at end “L. Peale” (possibly Titian's grandson Lincoln or his second wife Lucy, or a relative named Louis Peale) in ochre ink; heavily annotated and edited in pencil in another handwriting.
